Both (name) and I really enjoyed the tour.  Our guide is from the village, and that was a real asset as he knew the local people so the tour did not feel like poverty porn.  The water is high right now, so we traveled for about half an hour each way on a larger boat.  We visited the NGO, which is in a house among the village residents and learned about some of the projects they are working on. The NGO seems to be doing good work and some of the results, like solar panels and a school, were immediately visible.   We then got into a small fishing boat and headed out onto the lake to see how the villagers fish. We both really liked this but it is not it will not be for everyone, the boat is small and low to the water and there are no seats (we sat on live vests), so people not interested in fishing, or who are nervous about the water, or need a certain level of comfort would probably not like this trip (they do offer other tours).  Seeing the different methods for catching shrimp and fish, where they get clams, and where they catch different fish was great.  And being out on the lake close to the water was also really enjoyable. I think it is a good operation and would recommend it to others, the cost is a little high for Cambodia tours, but the money is going to an NGO so that was fine with us.
