Boondocks (aka Blue bar)

(From highway pass Super 8 on left. Take right at intersection. 2 miles down on right) | Brunswick, GA | (Sept., 2011)

It took me a while to find a pub near the super 8, but when I did find one I was pretty psyched. I wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into when I pulled up though. One beer sign hung in the one window, and a sign announced that whatever business was running out of the house was open 2pm to 2am. No sign told you that this was Boondocks (also known as blue bar), or a pub at all. Upon entry it was obvious that was what it was. Three pool tables and a juke box. Other entertainment included a couple who had been together for 30 years (but weren't anymore) dancing to country and my new favorite show (Operation Repo) on TV. Friendly people. Good times. They have karaoke tuesdays and thursdays if you're interested in participating in or avoiding that. Bud bottles cost USD2.50 and a stiff pour of Jack Daniel's ran USD5.
