Where to Eat

McDonald's

Everywhere (eg Sukhumvit near Soi 3 was the one I dined at)
Bangkok and Beyond

It's McDonalds. Sometimes, though, it's what you need. Especially after being in Cambodia for a while. Hate me if you want, but dammit, sometimes I need a Big Mac.

Soi 3 Area

Sukhumvit Soi 3
Bangkok
(December, 2010)

Just off Sukhumvit you got a bunch of middle eastern restaurants. Get your Shwarma, Hummus, Kofta... all that noise. Every trip I make to Bangkok I hit that area usually a couple times.

What to Do

Mulligan's

It's a bar on Khao San. There's Guinness there. And AFL. More...

The Sportscorner

A sports bar just off Sukhumvit which is one of the only places to watch NFL games. More...

The Sportsman

496/1 Sukhumvit Road
Washington Square
Off Sukhumvit Soi 22
Bangkok
+66 (0) 2 663 6405
www.bangkokpoolbar.com
(June, 2012)

A very spacious sports bar/pool hall. TV's spread throughout the large room with well-spaced pool tables. The darts, pool, bar, and eating areas are kept separate, making moving through the space very manageable. Beers run in the standard Bangkok neighborhood of 90-100 Baht. Signs also advertised occasional live music, for which there seemed like there would be more than enough space.

The Sportsman is also a place where you can play some of the best dart players in town. Their friday night lucky draw tournament brings in a crowd of recreational players as well as national level darters. There's a 200 baht entry and all the money is paid out in prizes.
